Sleep Test

Well I did it! Sleep test. First you get wired- electrodes at your eyes to detect REM sleep; sensors up your nose to sense pressure and temp of breath; sensor before your mouth to test temp and pressure of mouth breathing; sensor on your throat to detect vibrations from snooring; leads on both legs and both sides of collar bone for EKG; leads behind both ear and at about 6 other spots on your head and forehead for EEG; bands around upper and lower chest to detect from whence one does breath; digital oximiter on finger to read oxygen levels; microphone over your head to dectect snoring; infared light camera over the end of your bed to watch you - and then they say relax and go to sleep. You start out following commands like hold eyes open, hold eyes shut, move eyes in all directions, wiggle feet, breath, hold breath... Then you are to have a good night. Well I did not. The connections aren't really all that bad but they did tell the technician that I was not breathing in my sleep very much so I was awakend from my labored/restless sleep to try a CPAP machine which about killed me so we tried a different mask and I slept ok. When I moved and it whistled it woke me up. Will take some getting used to but it seems to have worked and will improve my health. So much is impacted by proper sleep. If you are restless, tired, depressed, grumpy, and snore maybe you should have this lovely test too.

Purpose

IF we have no goals we will never reach them. If we have no dreams we will never achieve them. If we have no direction we are doomed to wonder aimlessly and to be tossed by the winds and waves of life. If we don't make priorities we will be driven by the demands placed upon us without purpose or vision. The sort of life discribed here is without joy or celebration and often without peace or contentment. So what do we do? For far too long in my life it has felt like 'the tail is wagging the dog.' Time for me to take charge. Time to be a leader at least in my own life. Time to risk making choices and trying new things. Time for challenge. Time for discovery. Time for adventure. Time for growth. How about you?
Email me - open my eyes to what is possible by telling me where you are going.

Seem to be stuck on a theme here

Snow
today we have flurries and the ground is white
but the sun does peek out and give forth its light
the air is quite cold and a brisk wind does blow
but I guess its ok since I've no place to go

i work all the day long take care of the dead
comfort the living with things that need said
give hope to the weary i try so to do
and aid them as they find a way to get through
the sad times they're facing the void that they feel
we try to assist as they sort out what's real
we pray and we listen we share stories too
and hopefully they leave feeling a little renewed
